Dropping a bit

OK. I went out last night and had a bit too much to drink and wasn't feeling 100% this AM and certainly didn't want to deal with the huge surf that kicked my ass yesterday. So I headed down looking for something relatively easy.
As I got down to PCH I noticed the surf was a lot smaller at the north end of dog beach than it had been. Rather than heading south to Newport I decided to go North to Bolsa Chica. Good decision. Waist to chest high with an occasional head high set. Warm water and mellow conditions. It was kind of funky with a lot of the outside sets mushing out and then jacking up on the inside. Shoulders were running into each other and flattening out killing waves at times, and then every once in a while a wall would line up and let you go to work. It was crowded though and the Bolsa Chica crowd is particularly dangerous. A lot of newbees who lack in any sort of etiquette or skill. I kept myself from getting frustrated and just did my own thing. The current was horrible still, even though the surf had dropped. I ended up getting out twice and walking back up the beach.
I'm ready for the surf to go back to some sort of normal now. My arms are noodles.
