Wishy Washy Cliffs

Surfed the cliffs after I dropped my wife off at the Airport. Right in the middle of high tide which slowed things down a bit.
It was totally crowded, mostly with people much kookier than me so I still got a ton of waves, but also had to dodge a lot of people and dumped boards. I don't mind the newbies but ditching your board in anything less than 8' surf is selfish and dangerous, so watching these guys ditch their boards in 2-3' extremely crowded HB mush and almost getting hit several times kind of took some of the joy out of the session. Got two chest to shoulder high waves where I was able to manage some sort of top turn. Most everything else was just trying to maintain speed through the slow mush while dodging all of the bobbing heads.
The crowded conditions, even in the face of pretty marginal surf is due to the fact that the US Open of surfing is in town. It's gonna be a challenging week. I might have to meet tricks down at 204s.
